A NEW PATH

Tonight, I shall shed light to the idea of a much
needed new path, things must change.
For I am a happy enchanting child... so then why
do I keep falling into the same pits?!
I seek a thicker skin, mine is too frail.
I appear smooth on the surface... but my innards
are frigid.
As the clouds soak up the filth, the weight of it
all seeps through and pours acid rain drops
that stings my flesh and melts away my coating
leaving exposed my bloody walking corpse.
Who do you think you are... look me in the eye
and... lie to me, lie.
As you turn to walk away, leaving me to feel this,
alone. I rip off my half melted skin and
throw it at you, wear it, wear it like you wore me.
Slit my wrist and take my blood, drain me.
You've worn me, torn me and drained me dry,
I'd never thought you'd do this to me, you.
Once so high, I smile... aah yeah, this is the emotion
I want captured in a bottle, kept for a rainy day.
Hmm, a rainy day... like for the one of today.
Looks like I need to start patching up my wounds
and let my scars shine... once again.
